Let's assume that there is a mad scientist, who wants to destruct the Earth because of a reason that no one know. He has a plan called "Meteor Strike". The plan is simply following.
First, he goes to Oort cloud at outer space of the Solar system. Second, he finds a meteor that is large enough to break the Earth. Last, he tract it to the Earth.

Question : How much times will the plan be taken?

Considerations : His life time, technology, cost, and so on...

I am using both MS-windows and Linux. Two operation systems are different from each other. The most boring feature of windows is that it become slower as using than it was installed. This is because we use other programs, and the programs should need to do update of themselves.
I think that the reason that windows become slower is the applications make start-up programs as their updater, Adobe reader, Apple iTunes, and so on.
However, linux is different. Linux, as you know, is a free and open-source program. Their applications are also free and open-source. So, they can have integrated repository to update. Therefore, the updater program can easily be noticed what is updated, and may update them.
